I like to imagine that emotions are a lot like colors.

myannoyances:

Each one represents a way we feel.

But the more I think about it.. The more I realize that people can’t look at emotions like we do colors.

We can’t see colors like emotions because we never just feel one emotion. Eventually the tranquil yellows and the deep sad blues and the loving pinks and the angry reds will all blend together, as our feelings do, until all the shades meld together into some indecipherable grays and browns.

This is why people are so difficult to read. This is why people are so complicated. Because the smiles and the frowns and the painful looks all get muddled up in one another.

But it’s not just grays and browns, is it? Because this mixing of colors, this blending of tints and tones and shades, it’s what makes us beautiful. So while the colors might be difficult to comprehend, that’s what makes them all prettier..

Perhaps they are more like pretty abstract paintings where the colors don’t mix, but compliment each other to make one painting.
